The Potsdam Declaration is signed in Potsdam, Germany. The Potsdam Declaration (not to be confused with the Potsdam Agreement) was a statement issued on July 26, 1945 by Harry S Truman, Winston Churchill, and Chiang Kai-Shek which outlined the terms of surrender for Japan as agreed upon at the Potsdam Conference.

Japan accepted the terms of the Potsdam Declaration upon its surrender to the Allies after the use of atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
