Aos 24 anos de idade, James Dean morre num trágico acidente de automóvel. Dean ficou famoso por interpretar jovens problemáticos. Ao todo, foram três filmes na sua curta carreira; "Vidas Amargas"(1954), "Juventude Transviada"(1955), o qual ele também co-produziu, e "Assim Caminha a Humanidade", lançado nos cinemas em 1956, um ano após a sua morte.

Em Portugal os principais filmes em que James Dean actuou (houve outros) receberam os seguintes títulos(por ordem cronológica):
A Leste do Paraíso, Rebelde sem Causa e O Gigante.
Os nomes que divulga são os títulos no Brasil o que poderá criar alguma confusão por aqui.
Eu, por exemplo não conseguia localizar "Assim Caminha a Humanidade" (O Gigante).
Fez pequenas aparições em alguns filmes, como "Fixed Bayonets"(1951), "Saylor Beware"(1951), "Has anybody seen my gal"(1952) e "Trouble along the way"(1953).
